Review: 7.5 out of 10 stars.
The movie started out without an earthquake but was already action packed. So buckle up and hold on for the ride.
Full of non-stop earthquake actions that you might feel a bit scared, interjected with good dose of humanity and some ridiculous background story. You might find it cheesy at times, but nonetheless, it’s with excellent CGI and as the Rock said in the fan event, it took a lot of imagination for him to act in those scenes.
The storyline was linear and the writer had no plan of tricking the audience with any twisted surprise. Rather, it’s fueled you with moment after moment of tormented earthquakes, and just as you had enough, the writer gave you a love story. This movie had similar settings as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) with a San Francisco falling down.
The CGI scenes were surreal with good aerial views when things were all shaking down from South Cal to North.
Decent acting from the Rock and while he did not flex his muscles much, he definitely took off his shirt a few times or just has his beefy top protruding through the skimpy top.
Small Kylie Minogue had a small cameo so don’t expect much.
You might feel shaken after watching it and might be a good idea to get an emergency kit.

How can a fire department rescue pilot use the government helicopter to only go save his family? That’s a big hole. But then without that, there would be no 1-plot story.
