SinCity2Main Cast: Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordo-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Eva Green, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven

Review: 8.2 out of 10 stars.

Movie surrounded those who are depressed, hated those but cannot live without them, or simply were not brave enough. It’s a sin city with sadness, suppressed anger and how it all finally got released. It deals with corruption, gambling, murder, prostitution. All these filmed in black and white with specific notion to make the huge contrast. Meanwhile, it uses a bit of color to make sure the audience did not get bored.

The movie was sexually and violently charged in the most precise black and white comic book except when it needs to emphasize an act, blood, a dress, the blood red lips, etc.

Rourke and Alba were both okay but Green stole many of the scenes. Willis did not have a lot of scenes but enough to display like his character in Sixth Sense, which was a bit weird. The cast and directing were both enough to worth seeing it.

— Spoiler Ahead —

Willis fading in and out as a ghost reminds much as his character in Sixth Sense.

Alba has difficulties performing her role as emotionally suppressed and hatred. She was the weakest link in the movie, which was not good since that was one of the main roles. It was like she had never left Dark Angel’s role, same facial gestures, same moves, and appeared to be a bit superficial.

Gordon-Levitt’s character was odd as generally “good guy” characters do not die. And he did, making the audience slightly unsettling.
