Review: 7.3 out of 10 stars.
Hercules is a bit of a mixed feeling. It was overall enjoyable with the storytelling being straightforward and without too many characters introduced at the same time. Each scene was distinctively a chapter making it easy to follow. Good screen writing and directing.
The overall acting was decent with some roles worse (Fiennes whose lines were ridiculous) than others. The CGI was impressive enough to attract the general audience and in fact, was better than Guardian of the Galaxy dismal and overrated scenes.
The Rock, with the yak’s hair on his face, was a bit of distraction:
Good and bad, good being he looked very different from The Rock, making it easier to detach from his prior roles. Bad, that’s all the audience thought about throughout the movie. His ultra hormones and protein puffed up muscles were also a bit much like he was about to explode.
