Review: 7 out of 10 stars.
Surprisingly Purge 2 was a good thriller “entertained” with humor and some good screen shocker scenes.
While the first Purge took place in house as an invasion, the second one took place outside as a guy was walking around taking revenge but stumbled on and helped others.
The plot was Very formulaic with maybe 1 small twist. It’s stereotypical of rich and poor and almost racist in many ways. As usual, rich white people are portrayed as evil and black people must be poor and avenge on them.
The reason behind why people purge had taken on a different level, an almost hidden political agenda. Think Matrix.
Frank Grillo had done a decent job, with looks like a combination of Liam Nesson, Bradley Cooper and a young Mickey Rourke.

— Spoiler Ahead —
The twist that Eva was lying to Sergeant about having a car so he can take and do his revenge was a slight twisted mind that the audience was sided with her being just a mother and protecting her daughter. The audience definitely had a bit of gasp and it definitely showed the real human intention when it comes to being selfish.
Seargeant who almost got blown off of his head earned a bit of applause from the audience even much of it was expected. Bad guys must die horribly as it was portrayed throughout the movie.
