Brick Mansions (Movie)

BrickMansionsMain Cast: Paul Walker, David Belle

Review: 7.7 out of 10 stars.

Paul Walker’s last complete project. You have to sigh during the movie, to look at that youth face and innocent gestures.

The movie surrounded the area of Brick Mansions, an outskirt of Detroit, to be all drug lords hangouts, and it could mean money if it were to be brought down and rebuilt to show a better image for the mayor. And there’s history behind what motivated him and other police force.

The story was about how Lino (Belle) wanted (more…)

The Other Woman (Movie)

TheOtherWomanMain Cast: Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Don Johnson, Kate Upton, Taylor Kinney, Nicki Minaj

Review: 6.3 out of 10 stars.

At least 4 women involved with 1 man (Coster-Waldau) – wife (Mann), girlfriend who did not know she’s a mistress (Diaz), and a new fling (Upton.)

The chick flick focused on revenge. On the surface, it appears they were (more…)

Rio 2 (Movie)

Rio2Main Cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia, Bruno Mars, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Will i Am, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Miguel Ferrer, Jemaine Clement, Kristin Chenoweth

Review: 6.5 out of 10 stars.

A little dry for the otherwise colorful macaw movie. The drawing was a bit flat even the birds in real life are with vibrant colors and are more animated.

The story surrounds the family of Blu (Eisenberg) and Jewel (Hathaway) traveling with their kids (Lopez, Foxx and Will i Am) and eventually found (more…)

Bears (Movie)

BearsMain Cast: John C. Reilly (narrator)

Review: 8.3 out of 10 stars.

A documentary following a mother grizzly bear and her two cubs living in Alaska, their struggles of finding food, trekking along the pristine and breathtaking scenes, as well as some very mild violence for survival with other animals. This is a movie for families, for kids who will learn about bears’ survival skills, and for adults who will get an excellent, close up and continuous view above and under water of not just bears, but (more…)

Transcendence (Movie)

TranscendenceMain Cast: Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall

Review: 5.9 out of 10 stars.

How did a good concept got dragged down by poor acting and bad soundtrack? The plot was going no where and was not believable. As the actors and actresses were saying in the movie that human emotions were contradicting, the writer and director definitely were (more…)

Oculus (Movie)

OculusMain Cast: Karen Gillan, Brenton Thwaites, Katee Sackhoff, Rory Cochrane, Annalise Basso, Garrett Ryan

Review: 6.5 out of 10 stars.

A movie about a possessed mirror.

The style of going back and forth between childhood and adulthood of the sibling was good, and the tagline of “you see what it wants you to see” was frightening. However, the director decided (more…)

Alan Partridge (Movie)

AlanPartridgeMain Cast: Steve Coogan, Colm Meaney

Review: 7 out of 10 stars.

Decent small comedy of a mischievous DJ who simply tried to save his own job but did a bit too much to make sure so was cruelly funny. His survival skills caused him to make sure his buddy was fired and the buddy went postal.

It’s a movie making Coogan look like a real (more…)

Frozen (Movie)

FrozenMain Cast: Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Santino Fontana, Alan Tudyk

Review: 8 out of 10 stars.

Typical adorable Disney movie with stars all round edges and less evil, even with the evil guys.

This is truly a kid friendly movie, with kids in mind, an innocent look at a girl who had the magic touch to freeze everything that she had to wear gloves, and ultimately, tried to shut herself out in the mountain. The movie took on closer (more…)
