PoorHouseBistroRating: Solid good
Where:  San Jose, CA (91 S. Autumn Street, a couple blocks from HP Pavilion and Caltrain San Jose Diridon Station in Silicon Valley)

Review: Great southern food in a house (credit cards accepted inside) that has a full covered outdoor with a cash bar and a band and is also surrounded with heat lamps. Perfect place to eat before a concert / game or grab a good drink afterwards.

The place is packed with the fact that it’s close to HP Pavilion and is also a popular place for locals to eat, drink and hang out.

The corn bread was delicious, the 3 beignets were good. The catfish po’ boy burger was my favorite with the fish very tender inside while deep fried but not greasy outside. The mustard spread was very delicious.

Maybe most people do not drink coffee at night, the chicory coffee was made but in a fairly small cup and it did not taste like chicory in it. Will go for the beer tap on the next visit.

There’s only 1 bathroom for women so on a busy night there’s a wait.

The staff was extraordinary friendly and always smiled and nice.

The outside seating was nice. Casual and with a friendly and fun live folks band playing. That is just something that you cannot find in San Francisco!
